How verification works
Append only
Nothing is deleted, nothing overwritten. A mistake stays on the record forever, with its correction below it.
Each line seals the last
Altering an old entry breaks every entry after it. There is no silent repair.
Summaries beyond our reach
Each period's summary is written to the Bitcoin blockchain and signed by six independent custodians.
Anyone can check
Download the data and run the verifier on your own machine, offline, without contacting us. It is free software.
What we do not promise
Prevention is best effort; detection is the commitment. No mechanism stops an administrator with full access from altering a database. What we guarantee is that any retroactive change is detectable by anyone, without depending on us. The ledger does not prove we are honest — it proves we cannot change our story afterwards.
